NaNoWriMo and Random Story Time
Nov. 8th, 2011 09:40 pmTUESDAY'S WORD COUNT (11/8): 1386
TOTAL WORD COUNT: 14712
Terrible, horrible, no good, very bad day with yucky illness and too many errands.
Random Story Time. I work best when there's background noise. For instance, yesterday's epic nearly 3k sprint was mostly written while Mneme watched "The Dark Knight" which I did not enjoy, regardless of Gary Oldman's superb acting (per usual) and whoever played Harvey Dent (who I clearly need to figure out who and watch something else with him in it).
So, today I was watching old episodes of Burn Notice (which I love) and White Collar (which I also love). Only, a couple of these episodes have something in common that I had never noticed before. Was watching Burn Notice and saw the bad guy come on screen and thought to self, "Harry Dresden, why are you being a bad guy with a gun and an Irish accent?" Then, was watching White Collar and saw the bad guy, then thought "Harry Dresden, why are you being a bad guy with a gun? Again."
See, if you can't tell, I have a really hard time separating actors from the characters they play.
Additional example to prove this is, in every screenplay I have tried to write (four) there is always a major villain or one of those slimy yet infinitely charmingly guys written with the prayer of "*invoking various deities* if this ever gets filmed, please, please, please let Tim Curry want to play this role" going through my head.
He also pops up occasionally in the novels I attempt to write.
And yes. I do realize that this journal entry is about 250 words I could have put towards NaNoWriMo. Respectfully, shut up.
