I suppose I have delayed long enough posting my epic fail of NaNoWriMo.

I had a great idea. Lots of notes. A planned storyline. Everything. And I tried to do it the month I had a 5-20 page short story due in Creative Writing Fiction and a 3,000 word essay due in Creative Writing Non Fiction. Needless to say, I did not finish my novel. I managed to write about 5,000 words before school became too much for me to handle.

But, that does not mean I am giving up. It just means that I am no longer writing under a deadline for this novel. And I will finish this novel. I am making a promise to myself of that. I just need to break it down into more manageable pieces than 50,000 words in a month.

I have over 20 stories started on my laptop and in my writing notebook, and I will finish at least one of them with this novel.

Current Mood: busy

College starts in less than a week. I am going to be a senior. Blegh.

So this is my last year as a college student. Unless I decide to go on to graduate school. At the beginning of this new school year, I am setting up some goals for myself. I think if I put them in a place that I will look at regularly, I might be able to be more focused on them. So, here they are:

spiritual - I have a book on Buddhism that I want to read.
career - Get a new job related to my major.
family - Find something in common with both sisters to share in.
financial - Don't end up in debt.
physical - Lose 38 pounds by December 31st.
public service - Find a cause to volunteer for.
writing - Finish Creative Thesis.

These are all really kind of vague for now, except for the physical one and the spiritual one. They will become more detailed as the semester goes on.
