Graduation
May. 29th, 2011 07:25 pmYesterday was the commencement ceremony for my graduation from college with a Bachelor's of Arts in English, focusing in Creative Writing. There was a slight problem when I couldn't stop hiccuping before the Processional but someone managed to scare them out of me before I ended up in front of the president of the college. There were wonderful speeches and lots of peers graduating
I am so ecstatic and terrified about what to do now. The one phrase that stuck with me the most from the Valedictorian's speech was a quote from Howard Thurman which said:
Don't ask yourself what the world needs. Ask yourself what makes you come alive and then go do that. Because what the world needs is people who have come alive.
and this is the best advice I think anybody could receive which I intend to wholeheartedly follow.
